During my experience abroad, I ...
(1) Never – (4) A lot
Became familiar with another culture
Met people from other countries
Experienced a change in life
Advanced my studies & career
Final comments
My final comment is: travel as much as you can. This kind of things happen just once in a lifetime so enjoy. dont worry so much about studies (you can do that in your home country) but meet people, experience a different culture and you will notice a huge inner growth.

Academic
Course recommendations
Remember that there are two universities in Turku, Turun Yliopisto and Abo Akademi, being the last one the swedish speaking one. You can take courses from either of the universities as long as most of the credits belong to your host university. Few people will tell you about this and there are some good courses in Abo Akademi

Languages
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't.
How much did you improve your English?
My level before: No problems in any areas (including slang)
My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang)
Language difficulties
Administrative / Institutional
Personal comments
even though everybody in Finland speaks English, It is hard to find a job if you dont speak the local language which is virtually impossible. You will find no problems with language but, of course, you wont understand anybody when they talk to each other

Housing
Type of housing: Student village
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: student village
Why?
Awesome experience as you get to know people from all over the world as well as Finns. The cost is much lower than a standard appartment and you are surrounded by people constantly.

Personal comments
although it could have been better I must say that everything worked properly and my bedroom was warm and comfortable. Depending on the place you live in the student village you will find different experiences. I lived close to school but some other appartments are very far and you need a travel card (no use using a bike during the winter if you are not a tough Finn)

Personal comments
Puuteri is one of the best places in town to hang out on saturday night. It is a classy place.
You also have Dynamo which is more alternative and you can find all kinds of people.
another popular place is 57. It is always crowded and they have a famous Happy Hour everyday from 9 to 11.
Lots of parties on wednesday at the faculty, especially at Turun Kauppakorkeakoulu.
