HOUSING
by Jonathan, Haute Ecole ICHEC -St Louis- ISFSC, Brussels, Belgium

Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Because the university is in the suburbs of Madrid and live rather in town.
Personal comments:
My university would only provide accomodation in the village where it is located while I wanted to live downtown so I had to find a place by myself This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Personal social experience
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Nightlife: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Activities: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
If you choose to live in the village of the university alfonso X (wich is at 30 km of madrid) you can't avoid "calle cristo" where all nightbars stand, the atmosfeer is very good on thursday night! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

ACADEMIC

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
Better comunication student-teacher is needed. No studing plan available - which is very bad. There is simply quite a few book sources available without any criteria of which facts may be more important and which not.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
More social activities More open lectures More teacher`s attention available More practice And more respect due student`s knowledge rather than their presence in class. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

EXPENSES
by Irena, UACEG, Sofija, Bulgaria
Architecture, Erasmus
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Family Other sources of funding:
Personal savings An ERASMUS grant Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
There is a drastic difference between lifestyle at home and at the host country. The anount of money spent in Bulgaria for the very same things is 3 times smaller than the one in Spain. Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Some Banks doesn`t comunicate. A student of Erasmus should make an inquire in advance wheither ot not his bank has an equivalent in the host country. Otherwise he/she may turn out to be penniless in a small village or an unknown city. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

OVERALL

Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
no In my opinion:
I loved it but I'm not sure everybody would.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
the level of the courses is not very high and if you go to this university, it's more for the social and personal experience than to learn. FINAL COMMENTS
I recommend to live in the village of the university (villanueva de la cañada) because it's easier to know people and it's cheaper (no travel cost). If you study art, the level is really low and you won't learn a lot of new things but it is not important if you want to know the language. It's a private university and there is a very different atmosfeer than in a public one and it may be a problem, the students of this university are in general very rich.
