Personal spending habits
I was travelling a lot more than at home, having a mobile with card it's cost much more (and all the organisation when you go out!Communication was so important!). The nightlife was cheaper in Madrid than here in Vienna, so even if went out more often, I spent less!

Personal comments
At the beginning, it was a little bit difficult. But you have to listen a lot to the radio, watch TV, read the newspapers in order to "come into the language". Spanish people are really nice and if you start speaking with them, showing your interest, they're speak with you as if you were native!

Personal recommendation
Because this university is organised in faculties, you will be able to choose courses from other fields of study than the one you follow at home. so please, take the chance to choose some courses of history (spain one for example!), arts, languages, etc.. Moreover, just be cool, like the Spanish students who start to learn one week before their exams!

Madrid had an amazing number of clubs, café!!Cafes are really nice and cosy in Chueca (Acuarela, La Sastreria), a lot of people are around Malasana, Alonso Martinez. If you like salsa, like I do!, so do not miss el Empire (Sunday&Monday), el Tropical House on Wed. Hip Hop is really nice Wed in Bash line! Thursday, let's go to have a look at the Joy, nice dance music! At the Cafe de la Palma, you will always have nice atmosfere with good music!
