Europa 15 de Telefonica. You can call every day 15 minutes to a country of the EU. For 1500 Pts./month. There exist a variety of call back cards which can be found in "locutorios" (private phone shops!).

I wish I had known...
You should start looking for a flat at least a month before the university starts. In the first month of the course everybody looks for housing. You can make a good bargain by starting early!

Try to get on the ERASMUS trips. They are excellent. If you have any administration problems contact the ORI (oficina de relaciones internacionales = student exchange office!). They are very kind.

You should travel as much as you can. There a lot of things to see and visit in Spain. I recommend the Lonly Planet "Spain"!. Very useful.
