Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
One can be independent and at the same time get to know other people, hopefully locals if you share an apartment.

Personal comments
Apparently the accomodation organised through the university is very bad and expensive. I was lucky to find something myself that was not too expensive centrally located and large and clean enough! The university itself is very old and the facilities need a lot of improvement!

If you are not very good in the language it is good to take subjects which might overlap on subject matter, eg a lot of marketing subjects.

Take a public transport abonnement as quickly as you can-saves a lot of money. Do not pay more than 300.-euro rent a month. Try and travel round spain going to the cities for fallas a special fiesta, which is held throughout spain!

Expenses
Main source of funding:
Family
Other sources of funding:
Government assistance
An ERASMUS grant
Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options
Personal spending habits
I send more because in the Netherlands I had a telephone contract which was cheaper, this is not possible here if you do not have residence permit and bankaccount, which takes months to get. Accomodation just is more expensive. ALso I spend more money because I feel that I have to make the most of being in Madrid so I don´t mind spending more to do fun things.
