Either stay in Alcalá for the Erasmus Parties (almost every night, in bubs like Irish Pub, la Vaca Flaca, Cambrinus,... or in night clubs where you could dance)
Or you can go in Madrid where the night Life is awesome (in Jazz Bars, Nightclubs and pubs)

Expenses
Main source of funding:
Personal savings
Other sources of funding:
An ERASMUS grant
Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options
Personal spending habits
because you want to make the most of your stay, so you spend more for travels because you want to check out the whole place, you spend more on nightlife (that's part of the Erasmus Stay! You meet a lot of people from different countries,...) About the housing, I don't pay a rent at home so I obviously spent more in Spain.

Academic
Course recommendations
I've been in classes where we had to do a lot of presentation and essays during the term, it is usually in group so that's an opportunity to work with spanish people and get to know them. (Classes like: Marketing and distribución comercial, planificacíon estratérica de la empresa)

Experienced a change in life

Final comments
I would advice students to be carefull when they choose their place to live. Try to meet the persons you will be living with before accepting the room. You've got plenty of rooms to rent (in flat already fournished)so you'll get one easily.
