Universidad de Cádiz review by Michaela
HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? because you live with people of diferent countries in one flat. It is amazing getting to know their culture and habits and all new aspects of their lives
Personal comments:
At the beginning it was dificult to find a flat in the center of the town. Nevertheless, it was worth looking, because I found a great place to live with people of diferent countries. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students equally interact with the local and student community
Nightlife: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Activities: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
There are a lot of places to go out in Cadiz. The most favourite bar at the beginning is of course "Nahu" and the discos near to the port. When you get to know the city, you will find a lot of bars and restaurants where you can spend your time and enjoy your stay in Cadiz (Bars: Umec, Timbre, Excalibur; Tapas Bars: Gotinga, Garbanzo Negro, Montaneros, 100 Montaditos, El refugio...) My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
The courses that I chosed can not be compared with courses in Vienna. Of course I chosed easier courses according to former Erasmus students in Cadiz, but in general I can say that the academic level is lower than in Austria
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
I had to learn by heart for the exams at the end. This kind of studying is not the nivel a university should have. I would have prefered other kinds of exams, especially of courses of the last study-year This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: Spanish
Was learning Spanish a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my Spanish How much did you improve your Spanish?
My level before: Basic phrases My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
I chosed Spain, because I wanted to learn Spanish. Only from the courses of my university in Viena I never had learned that much. You can only learn a language when you live in that country. You learn how to use phrases, words of the daily live, the slang of the streets and many more things. For me it was very important to go to Spain and I am sure I will go to other countries as well. The food here is much cheaper, especially with the posibility of buying in the market in the center. In general the things are cheaper in Andalusia. The price nivel is not so high in comparision with Austria Telephone: was more expensive than at home. Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
There were no financial surprises This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
