Final comments
If I was to do it all again I would perhaps go somewhere further south as the people in the north are quite cold and it was difficult gettin to know spanish people.
Get to know as many people as you can and don't fall into the trap of speaking your native language.

There should be a more regulated approach towards international students in some cases the teachers really want to help you and understand the difficulties of studying in a foreign language whereas some are averse to that fact
