Try and refrain from going to all the typical places were English students gather. In Granada, you are really spoiled for choice. The caves in Sacromonte are a must see as the night unfolds inside a cave. In Granada you have tons of bars which with the purchase of one drink you get a free tapa. Delicious. My local cafe in Calle Arabial was fantastic, friendly people, yummy food, typically Spanish. However, the best place by far is a bar called, La Mancha. Small, rustic Spanish bar, with lots of locals, servicing fantastic wines, beers and food.

Personal comments
Living in a flat was great but at times it was struggle to keep warm. The only negative aspect of the housing were the way in which they were built. The flooring in Spanish flats and houses are made up of tiles, which ideally keeps the house quite cool in the summer months. However, many do not know but, Granada gets very cold in the winter and for that reason the house was freezing. There were no heaters which made it unbearable at times.
