Housing
Type of housing: With a family
Arranged by: Home university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
If I were to go back to Sevilla, I would choose to live in an apartment with a Spanish roommate so that I would be better able to meet locals and thus speak more Spanish

As I mentioned, I went through ISA (International Studies Abroad). However, Vanderbilt is not associated with ISA, so I had to go through another american university in order to be able to study at the University of Sevilla. SO, I went through ASU. The housing arrangements were adequate - I enjoyed the family I lived with and the location was great, but I shared a very small bedrooom with another girl (who happened to be my friend) and felt cramped a lot of the time.

I wish I had known...
I wish I had known that plane tickets are were more expensive and that it was difficult for me to travel on the train AND study because it would take too long for me to get anywhere on the weekends.

My experience in Sevilla, Spain was incredible -- I could not have asked for a better learning, playing, and growing environment. In fact, I loved my time in Spain so much that I am currently searching for a job in a spanish-speaking country. I desire a challenging and structured job where I can practice my Spanish, while also have the opportunity to interact with the local culture and people. I feel that my knowledge of the Spanish language (although rusty) is strong - I am able to communicate proficiently in most situations and feel at ease transferring from English to Spanish and back again.
