The accomodation offered by the university was in halls on a room only basis, there were no private facilities.

When I arrived communicating was rather a struggle. Being in the country forces you to use and improve your second language and you have to adapt your knowledge of the language to a variety of situations

I wish I had known...
I found my contact there quite unhelpful. I'd have benefited from a better infrastructure though that my have been the fault of my home university department.

Personal recommendation
Zaragoza is a fantastic city for an Erasmus exchange because it is a good size (not too big to be overwhelming, and not too small to get boring) In the space of an academic year you can make the most of what is has to offer. The university campus is central and compact, the atmosphere is welcoming.

Final comments
I would not recomend travelling to Zaragoza airport, but instead going to either Madrid or Barcelona. This is a much cheaper option and there are good train and bus (cheaper still) links between these cities.

Personal comments
Try and find a flat with a phone in it or organise a mobile phone in the country, phone boxes do not except incoming calls and using a British mobile abroad would cost a bomb.
