Housing
Type of housing: student's hall of residence
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: student's hall of residence
Why?
You can get to know more people. You can socialize, know much more about diffirent culture. Speak english, you don't use your mother tongue actually.

Personal comments
The student's hall was almost perfect. There were many advantages: only 36 students, big kitchen with everything, a computer room, 2 tv rooms, security guys etc
And disadvantages: rooms were too small and some of them didn't have windows, we could go back at night during week only till 1 o'clock in the morning, or between 2 an 2.30 and later after 7 o'clock. It was completely crazy. Kitchen was sometimes very dirty because cleaning ladies didn't clean it.

Porto is full of perfect places to spend time, to talk with friends, to dance, to get to know new people.
We lived in Foz, it's a district near the ocean so I can start with this area. Near our residence there was a pub BONAPARTE. The staff who work there was really nice, aspecialy one waitress who is half portuguese half german. It's a kind of duplex. On the first floor there is a restaurant. You can buy a pinte fo 3 euros. The outlook of this place is also nice because walls are full of old glasses, dolls, posters, and many other things which u cannot find anywhere. It was our second home for a half a year.
The second place in Foz was PRAIA DA LUZ. It is placed near the ocean. You can olso seat outside and watch the sunsets.Meia de leite is for 1,5 euros. Inside there is even a fireplace which works during winter. Sometimes there are reagge parties but by day it's mainly a restaurnat.
The fird perfect place in Foz is PRAIA DOS INGLESES.It's also near the ocean and walls of this place are made from glass.
And also ALFAMA.It's a brasilian clb-pub where on Fridays there is a live brasilian music. Caipirinia is for 5 euros and you can also buy strawberry caipirinia. It's perfect when you go there with your friends.
In the centre there are a lot of clubs and pubs.
TANDINIA-it's near the Plaza Liberdade; one beer is for 1 euro; you can listen to all kinds of music. but mostly it's an alternative music. There are a lot of young people. But be carefull with bags and don't leave them everywhere. Because someone stole my cell phone when I left it on the chair.
MOU MOU- it's a typical place for erasmus students. It's quite big. You can dance because there is a lot of place. Transe, techno, electronic music, drum'n'bass etc You can spend there all night and forget about all world.
BAZAAR-it's placed near the river and I really like it. It has about 3 or 4 floors. On the last one there is a tarase where u can seat and talk. There are a lot of rooms so u can get lost. Music is perfect, mostly they have live music (dj's).
VIA RAPIDA-it's a big club and very crowded. Till 2 o'clock there is noone so it's useless to come before 2. You won't find any place to seat because noone is seating. At 4 o'clock there are so many people that you cannot make any move.
VOUGE-it's placed near Via Rapida but I like it much more. The design of this place is better. It's bigger but also too crowded. There are places for VIPs where you can eat something for free and drink but it's difficult to get there. Dj's are perfect but there is no place to seat and talk. They have an air conditioning but it's common in almost every big club...
