For me Lisboa was the best place to do an exchange semester. Lisboa offers a lot of things to do and Portugal is a country where you can travel around easily. Don't forget a sleeping bag. It's useful for travelling and Lisboa's flats are quiet cold during nights sometimes until march. Read Review

Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? You are more independent and you have the possibility to invite people and to have guests from your home country.
Personal comments:
All my erasmus collegues lived in appartments with other erasmus students or with portugese people. An advantage of living with portugese people is the possibility of practicing the language more than living with erasmus students.

in the quarter bairro alto there is one bar next to the other. there are several miradouros - point of views - with marvellous overviews and little bars or restaurants: miradouro santa catarina, miradouro graca. in alfama there is a restaurant called chapito which has a wonderful view.
