The nicest place for a coffee & great and to relax: pois café, o café austriaco: alfama, right of sé (cathedral): rua sao joao da praca 95. Lisbon is a quite big city and no "university town" - so of course there is not only student life. However, exchange students usually stick quite together.

I found this apartment shared with other students through a list at my host university winters in Portugal get cold because most apartments do not have heating. Most other students also lived in apartments: I think it is a great opportunity to get an impression of the "normal" life.

At Faculdade de Economia, Universidade Nove de Lisboa courses are - in general - taught in Portuguese. However, most courses for exchange students aer in English. This way, studying was easier for me - but of course my Portuguese would have improved much more if I had taken courses in Portuguese.
