You have to follow each course with the maximum attention because the most of the teachers doesn't allow you to study individually and do directly the final exam.

My level before: Did not speak it
My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang)
Personal comments:
At the beginning it was very difficult for me to understand clearly because the portuguese pronunciation has sounds very closed or nasal. After 3 months I spoke and understand all perfectly.

Because there the prices were different (generally cheaper), but I had to pay the university restaurant, while in my home university is free for me.
Food, Travel: was more expensive than at home.
