Personal assessment
Cost
KEY:
Couldn't have asked for more.
Pretty good.
Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.
Disappointing.
Facilities
Location
Cleanliness
Space
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? The chance to meet and interact with other German and international students while living on campus was invaluable for me and formed a big part of my learning process. The people were open, friendly and helpful. The accommodation was basic, but clean, roomy and comfortable. The student accommodation was located centrally, near both the city centre and the uni campus, making the lifestyle easy.
Personal comments:

My academic experiences
Quality of courses
KEY:
Fantastic.
Pretty good.
Could've been a bit better.
Disappointing.
Variety of courses
Availability/access to resources
Interaction with teachers
Interaction with other international students
Interaction with local students
Course recommendations:
Potsdam has an advantage for students whoose mother tongue is not German, in that is has a special faculty for German as a foreign language, which most unis dont offer. I found the choice of courses, the content and the teaching staff all of an extremely high standard. The only drawback was the library. It was small and its opening hours left a lot to be desired. I found myself relying mainly on the public libraries in Berlin.

My opinion of the university assessment

Exams throughout the course

Personal comments:
The German Government here gives out financial assistance to students (including international students) who nominate their main residence as Potsdam and live here for the duration of their study - I suggest this be taken advantage of. Ask at the Studentwerk in Potsdam.

FINAL COMMENTS

try to get a part time job and try to choose your location. if you get some additional informations about potsdam and Germany in general before arriving you will be ready to face everything much better: you can find somo student jobs through the student office (Studentenwerk)and once you are there you have to try to be always informed.
