I followed additional courses in Italian and thus I learnt it quite easily. Italians love the fact that someone is willing to learn their language and they are glad to correct you in any occasion.

It was quite OK. I had to share room with another student, but that was never a problem. The location was perfect - just a 15 minutes walk to the city centre and 10 minutes to the university.
