I am not huge in to the club/erasmus (party every night scene). Cool, low-key places were Trattoria Toscana, English Pub, Pusterla (a Milanese must!)

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Home university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
The university dormitories are strictly Catholic, with rules on curfews, guests (same-sex only), etc. Although there are many benefits to living there (location, cost, mensa), I would have preferred to live in an apartment with other Italians.

Final comments
Milan, although a large "international" city, still is very Italian; however, it's not the best example of all that Italy has to offer. Travel, eat, meet people, be happy!

Italian uni-system is under-estimated in many countries. Know what grades you need to get on the exams (oral and difficult) to obtain the grades you want at your home uni
