You need to speak italian, even if you don't know much is the best choice out of a language that you can make. People are helpful in Italy. English don't buy much at the University, though.

Cash dispensers have high fees. Better to withdraw a significant amount at once. Careful with the banks if you want to open an account."Banca di Roma" scammed a bunch of people a lot with a supposedly Student-fee-free sort of account.

Academic
Course recommendations
Watch it here! This is University's one of the best among the country, which means that they don't care much whether or not you're an exchange student since there's a reputation to stand. Don't choose very tough ones!

The "computing system",if it can go by that,is a dump. There's just one official place where students can check email and make internet research.Only 4 computers of them with a minimum Win95 to be shared with a certain amount of locals working on a Thesis. Then there was, thank god, the library...but still anything related to Pcs was a sheer nightmare.

Rome's a heck of a place to go. It offers a lot at all levels, human, social, art,..etc. Keep an eye in the means of transport for your personal stuff and bear in mean that the place ain't chep. Worthy though.

Places close not so late at night. This pissed us a bit so we figured there should be some place that closes later. *Zaragozana. This is the one.The place's a real dump but you really have fun in there. *Picasso.Sure you'll heard of this disco-pub if you get there. One of the best rated of'em all. *Circolo degli artisti. Acceptable. ---------------------------------------- Other than night places,I highly recommend a good view of the city at night.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
Because I spent the second semester of my stay in there.A residence's cheaper, and offers a heck of a lot more possibilities such as meeting other exchange students more easily.
