the university functions well as long as you get usd to its rythms

take warm clothes with you if you go in the winter, anti-mosqitos stuff if you go in the summer and travel a lot, never omitting to ask for travel offers of Trenitalia

Think more about the student community. Pavia's University has very expensive facilities even for the italian students.



FINAL COMMENTS

I loved my experience. But I found Pavia a very "bourjois" town where not everybody can live well. From canteen meals to nightlife, everything is expensive wich makes people stay home. Despite the University, Pavia isn't the university town I would imagine. But "l'Italia è bella"! and I had the opportunity to travel a lot and get to know it well and just loved every little detail. In the end, I would have done it all the same!

The Pavia university website www.unipv.it has loads of information for international students so check that out before you leave. You can also download the application forms from there too.

Personal recommendation:
With the combination of the language course, accomodation and the STEP insternational students' organistion and the activities, trips and events they put on, it's is well worth spending a semester or even a year in Pavia.



FINAL COMMENTS

Although Pavia is a small town, there's plenty do do and see around and about and with it being on the main train line through northern italy, travelling is really easy. Make sure you get your accomodation application in on time, and don't forget the medical certificate from your doctor at home (which MUST be translated into Italian) as they won't even look at your application without it.

That UNI started one week earlier...! No fix telefones in the houses (everybody uses mobils)...so I wouldn't have brought my PC to use internet!

Good Uni...very old and historically intersting...very nice looking...good reputation fpr medicine and business....high level.

I advice every student to do a year abroad! It's such a nice and important experience...will be usefull for the whole life!!! Very good exchange programme: MIBP (University of Mannheim)...includes traineeship at the end!

WELL, A GOOD EXPERIENCE BUT PAVIA IS NOT THE BEST DESTINATION IN ITALY. IT IS TOO CALM AND I WOULD SAY YOU SHOULD CHOOSE CITIES SUCH AS ROME, NAPLES, BOLOGNA, PERUGIA WHERE STUDENTS HAVE MORE FUN (IMAGINE THAT IN THE WEEKENDS PAVIA IS QUITE EMPTY CAUSE MOST STUDENTS LIVE NEARBY THE LOMBARDIA PROVINCE AND THEY CHOOSE TO GO HOME)

PAVIA IS A NICE CITY BUT NOT RECCOMENDED FOR AN ERASMUS EXPERIENCE ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE LIKE GIORGIO192 WHO IS A LOVER OF LUXURIOUS LIFE. HOWEVER, WHEREVER YOU GO, ERASMUS EXPERIENCE IS A NICE ONE AND ITALY IS A GOOD DESTINATION SINCE ITALIANS ARE OPEN MINDED AND HELPFULL. NTARI...

It is a very familiar and old university with very nice and competent teachers.Only the access to internet was a bit difficult and maybe some formal things

If somebody love Italy, he should go to a town like Pavia! It is not so big(100.000)but near to Milan.I had immediately contact to a lot of italian people who helped me to find the best way to a fast integration

excellent academic quality and culturally integrated within the city

Enjoy the year, take pavia for what it is; a small relatively quiet town where you can meet some incredibly friendly people for life. Respect the university, create a good social life and make use of nearby Milan.

Travel all around Italy, from the big cities to the little villages. Enjoy both summer and winter. Get there early to get good acomodation.

I higly recommend the city and the country. You will love it. But, in waht concerns to Economics, this is not the best university to improve our knowledges.

You will have fun for sure! Go and be an open-minded person. Meet students, locals, everyone! And keep in touch with your new friends when you leave because you will want to meet them again!

It is well organised- accomodation and clear instructions/help at the start.

Pavia is the ideal place, 1 hour to the see, 20 minutes to milan, 1 hour to the mountains where it is possible to go skiing

Be careful with the teachers, some of them are very rude, and they don't care if you're a foreigner or an italian.

If you want to choose Italy DO NOT choose Pavia..You have to choose Rome , Naples or Bologna!!!But if you are looking for a true Erasmus experience choose Greece or Spain!!!In those countries the people know how to live..
