Bars. Pavia had good bars where we would go by night or doing "l'apperitivo": Safará, Broadway, Porta Nuova... and the open air discos like Molino della Frega. very good!

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
Personal comments
Pretty good for a short experience as mine was. But I would try to find an apartment if I had to stay longer since in "Collegio" I had to share my room. The lack of privacy is a huge disadvantage if you have other habits than your room mate. Besides that I missed having a kitchen! Eating in canteen everyday isn't so healthy and going to restaurants a pretty expensive solution. All the rest was cool. Specially the place itself: very beautiful and very well located. And the girls were very nice (it was a girls residence).

I really enjoyed learning italian. I just love the ability to communicate so learning another language was wonderfull. I had the opportunity to read a lot, go to theatre, movies... It felt really good broked the language barrier and finally felt tottaly integrated. I eaven had the opportunity to learn the different accents for each region.

Yes. More projects! The courses aren't very difficult and therefore you tend to feel too relaxed about them. Some projects throughout courses would help learn more and get more interested.

Personal recommendation
Think more about the student community. Pavia's University has very expensive facilities even for the italian students.

Final comments
I loved my experience. But I found Pavia a very "bourjois" town where not everybody can live well. From canteen meals to nightlife, everything is expensive wich makes people stay home. Despite the University, Pavia isn't the university town I would imagine.
But "l'Italia è bella"! and I had the opportunity to travel a lot and get to know it well and just loved every little detail. In the end, I would have done it all the same!
