HOUSING
Personal assessment
Cost
KEY:
Couldn't have asked for more.
Pretty good.
Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.
Disappointing.
Facilities
Location
Cleanliness
Space
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? The location was pretty good, the only thing I would want if i had to go back was an internet connection!
Personal comments:
The housing in the city of Siena was pretty bad, Siena is a small city with a large population of students. The consequence of this is that the room prices were extremely high. It was also common to sleep in one room with two or three people (and even more). BUT, Siena is a beautiful city and the people there are great, so for a few months this is not feasible.

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Activities
KEY:
Amazing! Hardly had time to study.
Plenty to do when I had the time.
So-so.
Did not get involved.
Nightlife
Travel
Overall
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities, Nightlife: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment
Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment
Personal comments:
The Palio of Siena (yearly horse races) is an event you don't want to miss. If you want to see the Palio, but you don't want to stand in the crowds all day long, just go to the prove! They are just as good and you are better able to see the event.

ACADEMIC
My academic experiences
Quality of courses
KEY:
Fantastic.
Pretty good.
Could've been a bit better.
Disappointing.
Variety of courses
Availability/access to resources
Interaction with teachers
Interaction with other international students
Interaction with local students
Course recommendations:
You have to look very carefull at the start dates of each course and the course hours. Many courses overlap each other.

My opinion of the university assessment
Exams at end of course
KEY:
Liked it.
It was alright.
A bit annoying.
Didn't like it.
Exams throughout the course
Essays and/or projects at the end of course.
Essays and/or projects throughout the course
Overall
Personal comments:
I think the University of Siena should appoint better mentors for their foreign students, mentors were not well aware of their duties.

I wish I had known...
When you are going to study abroad make sure you see the room/appartment before making a down payment. I wish I did this before going to Siena. The problem is that you never know what you will find when youy are there.
In my opinion:
I loved it but I'm not sure everybody would.

During my experience abroad, I ...
Became familiar with another culture
KEY:
Happened all the time.
Happened quite a lot.
Happened a bit.
Didn't happen.
Traveled
Improved language skills
Met people from other countries
Became more independent
Partied a lot
Experienced a change in life
Advanced my studies/career
Personal recommendation:
The University of Siena is a very good university, but is is very Italian. This means un-organized.
