Personal comments:
Caffe Belvedere,situated on a rocks with balcony, old furniture and books really temptate you to sit there all day long chatting with some friends or just reading a book of poetry. One spot next to the University library where most of the students meet at night especially weekends. Weekend were mostly organized by the local IAESTE group otherwise is would be quite boring.

It will be very easy to find out were the right places are! don't worry about it! "Cafe Grand Place", "la Rose", "Grand Duc", and parties at the fraternities. Lots of small cafes at the close villages, Gruyeres...

Fribourg is not really a city where you can enjoy a night life cause swiss people are quiet. but there was a pub which was opened avery mondy evening where it was really nice to go in order to meet other students but I don't remember the name
