Architecture, I was living in Germany prior to taking up this course ![]()
HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? I have been used to an independent way of living. By living in a flat share one preserves one's independence, while staying in close contact with fellow students. ATTENTION: For students travelling from the UK, it might come as a surprise that the majority of flats in Germany are only available unfurnished.
Personal comments:
The University has several halls, which are readily available to Erasmus students. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students equally interact with the local and student community
Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Activities: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
Club: Zino does Lady's nights on wednesdays with free Caipirinhias for women until 11 o'clock. Pubs: There are several Irish pubs in Hanover which cater mostly for foreigners/students This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: German
Was learning German a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. Personal comments:
All classes are taught in German, if your language skills aren't up to scratch you might certainly have trouble following the lectures on this particular course. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

OVERALL
Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
They drive on the right In my opinion:
I loved it but I'm not sure everybody would.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
Mix with your fellow students! Hanover's architecture faculty is located in a separate building from the other courses (some are just accross the street, though) so the architecture students are part of a very strong community. Just mingle. Go to the Tuesday Bar. FINAL COMMENTS
Buy a bicycle, it's the best way to get around. But you'll be able to use the tram/subway system for free with your student card This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
