Was learning German a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. Personal comments:
At the beggining I didn't know so much german, but as the University offered some intensive courses before each semester and some courses during the semesters I could learn german grammar and vocabulary. Something that really helped me to improve my german was interacting with other german students, I enrolled on the university choir and I could meet some of my german friends. Was learning German a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my German How much did you improve your German?
My level before: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.) My level after: At ease in most situations Personal comments:
I think I've learned a lot, not only in the classes, but also every day, with german friends too. The thing is, I know I could have learned more, but it's not so easy to make friends from the host country, all the exchange students tend to be together, and the problem is that, in that case, most of the time the most used language is English, or sometimes our native language.
