HOUSING
by mketter1, University of Oklahoma, Norman, United States
Language, University Agreement
Personal assessment
Type of housing: off-campus dormitory
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: With a family
Why? Staying with a family greatly increases the cultural experience and helps by having to speak the foreign language all the time.
Personal comments:
Each floor really had its own personality. On my floor, people would come home, close, and lock the doors. They hardly communicated with their neighbors. On other floors, it was like a party. People kept doors open, and the neighbors visited each other a lot. I was surprised to see such a range of "floor personalities," but I enjoyed it. My floor was quiet, but I could down down a couple of floors and visit with people all day long. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

The overall standard was pretty good and the cost was very reasonable. The only downsideto this accomodation was the fact there was no common room to socialise. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Engineering, Independent
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Studette
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? Its close to the university or the work place and with other studnets like oneself, the ambiance is great.
Personal comments:
There are two hostels for foreign students but they have to be reserved a semester in advance as by the time of the start of engineering year, there is no place left. The problem is that there are more students and less university residences This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
