Why? If I didn't study at the campus, I would rather like to live in the city center.

Even though the facilities were quite poor, over all atmosphere was nice.

My level before: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.)
My level after: At ease in most situations
Personal comments:
Once one had to survive on French, one had to learn it. At the beginning it was difficult at times, since local people were not used to listening to people speaking with an accent. However, I avanced fast and it turned out to be a rewarding excperience.
