HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? Perhaps "Les Villages" are not in central town, but they are perfect to meet french people and socialize.
Personal comments:
There are several residences on campus, but in general all of them are old, with 9m2/room, and one kind of kitchen and toilet per floor. It is perfect for a very cheap stay but just one year: "Villages" give you the opportunity to develop a good social life, but you can not forget than the night and cultural life is in central town. People living there is very nice (in general) and various. Cosmopolite ambient. At first is a bit depressive, but after one month it will change. You will be surprised! STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students equally interact with the local and student community
Activities, Nightlife, Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
For the night: "Au chat qui pêche"(Cours de la Marne); "La Lune dans le Caniveau" (Capucins) "Café des menuts" (St. Michel) Le Plana (Victoire). Do not go to "quais", close to the river: Pretty expensive, and so snob ambient in most of them. During the afternoon, all the Cafés in Place du Parlement ("Café Reno", "La Comtesse"). Go to dinner during the spring and summer to Quartier de St. Pierre. You have to visit places like Saint Émilion, not very far of Bordeaux, Saint Jean de Luz, and Sarlat, at three hours by train. Do not forget that the region has very good beaches. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
