Why? I've experienced living with a host family several times now, and I think I am at the point where I would prefer to live on my own, and not have to worry about the rules of living in someone else's home.
Personal comments:
I lived with a host family and they were absolutley wonderful. I got along great with them, and I could not have asked for a better family.

Great program, great area, close to the mountains, great people. Small town so it's easy to get to know, but just big enough.
