Although it was created in 1970 on the Saint Martin d'Hères campus the Université Stendhal has more distant roots. Founded in 1339, the University of Grenoble was set up primarily in the Tour de l'Isle. Today Université Stendhal enjoys the status of Scientific, Cultural and Professional Public Institution.

Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.

If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? The university accomodation was very small, cramped, unhygenic and the person in charge of the running of it disliked english speakers. More independance at your own apartment.
Personal comments:
The standard was very poor abd restrictive as it was not near the centre of town however it was ideal for university.

London Pub for foreign interaction and couchetard for later on in the evening. Les trois canards also very nice atmosphere.

Due to the simple fact I was not able to work whilst away.
