Description:
The institutes of technology are public institutions awarding official diplomas and taking an important space in college education, reuniting the advantages of the Grandes Écoles and those of Universities, thanks to their activities in teaching and research, centered in the propmotion and development of technology. The network of institutes of technology is made up of 3 schools: the Compiegne Institute of Technology, the Troyes Institute of Technology, and the Belfort - Montbéliard Institute of Technology.

UTC was founded in 1972, the first Institute of Technology in France, and currently prepares approx. 3,000 students for diplomas in 5 engineering fields: Biological Eng., Chemical Eng., Computer Science, Mechanical Eng., and Engineering of Mechanical Systems.
