As I mentioned before, if you can get out there a bit earlier to find accomodation then it'll be worth it, as you may end up having to share a room or spend loads of money on rent. You'll make your friends in the first few weeks so make sure you attend all the social events. Any problems, go to the ASE office as they'll be more than willing to help. Read Review

HOUSING
Personal assessment
Cost
KEY:
Couldn't have asked for more.
Pretty good.
Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.
Disappointing.
Facilities
Location
Cleanliness
Space
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Because living in an appartment with other students was such a good experience.
Personal comments:
The International Office offered little help with finding accomodation and there was limited choice.

Travel
Overall
Describe host city: Students equally interact with the local and student community
Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment
Activities, Nightlife: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment
Personal comments:
To many to write. Do as much as you can while you're there because you'll miss it when you leave and you'll kick yourself for not making the effort to go somewhere or do something while you had the chance.

Nightlife, Telephone: was the same price as at home.
Food, Travel, Overall, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
I would suggest arriving slightly earlier to avoid the rush of students looking for accomodation, that way you have a choice (albeit little) and can find something cheaper.

In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!

During my experience abroad, I ...
Became familiar with another culture
KEY:
Happened all the time.
Happened quite a lot.
Happened a bit.
Didn't happen.
Traveled
Improved language skills
Met people from other countries
Became more independent
Partied a lot
Experienced a change in life
Advanced my studies/career
Personal recommendation:
Some of my friends had their placement at other universities in Italy and although they had a reasonably good time, they weren't totally satisfied. I however, had an amazing time and I honestly can't think of a bad thing to say about the year I spent in Verona. This was all thanks to the ASE group who made everyone feel welcome and they really looked after us. Had it not been for them, my experience would have been totally different and could have turned out like that of my friends. A big thanks to the ASE in Verona who gave us all a fantastic year that we'll never forget.
