If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? More independence, although I may consider living with a family or with other local people in order to improve my Italian.

Activities, Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Personal comments:

I can highly recomment to study abroad in order to improve personal language skils. It might be hard in the beginning, but its defnitely worth it. I would not suggest to study abroad without any language skills before. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

I spent more on travel because I travelled a lot more than I would have done at home. Overall I spent more than I would at home as I had to make the most of my time there. Travel, Overall: was more expensive than at home. Food, Nightlife, Telephone, Housing: was the same price as at home.
Personal comments:
Household bills i.e. gas and electricity were VERY expensive, much more than in UK. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Personal recommendation:
I didn't actually chose this university, I was placed there my my home uni, but I really enjoyed it, the town is great and it's really easy to get to other cities in Italy from there, eg Milan, Bologna, Florence and Rome. FINAL COMMENTS
If you're there to improve/learn the language then you really have to push yourself as its really easy to stick with your friends from home (if you went out there with people from home uni) and speak English all the time. Make an effort to meet Italians and to speak Italian to them. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
