Having a intercambio made my experience much easier. I was dissappointed that we were not integrated with the Spanish students more often.

Living at home with mom and dad was much cheaper. The cost of living abroad was expected and anticipated.
Food, Nightlife, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Overall: was the same price as at home.

University of Albany is expensive....The host University of Polytechnic is mad cheap! Apply direct if you can.
