The appartments were o.k. A bit cold in Winter because there is no central heating but a sleeping bag or a little heating fan does it aswell.

Languages
Language of instruction: Spanish
Was learning Spanish a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't.
How much did you improve your Spanish?
My level before: Did not speak it
My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang)
Language difficulties
Administrative / Institutional
Personal comments
At first it was hard. But I got to know a lot of local people and started speaking with them. I didn´t go to a language course because they didn´t offer a basic level course. I started learning from a book and by talking and going out and drinking. The best Tutor is Beer. No kidding!

To eat the best thing is to go to the cafeteria. You can get a Bocadillo and a drink for 1.20€ or a full 3 course meal for round about 4€.
For cash I would suggest you dispense it two or three times a month in a lump sum to save on transaction fees.

The University of Gandia is situated about 60km away from Valencia. Getting to Valencia isn´t a big problem. Train once an hour and takes about 45min.
To get around Gandia and surroundings, especially for Travel reasons I recommend that you bring a car.
The University in Gandia is also situated at the beach, so don´t expect big city life. It´s rather quiet in winter..
The Bar Zone there is amazing: about 30 Bars, one after the other, no entry fees and the drink is cheap (copa: 4€, cerveza: 2€)

The computer facilities aren´t exactly what you would call "well equiped". The have about 20 Computers for 2500 Students. Apart from that it´s alright to study for half a year.
