Description:
Pompeu Fabra University is Catalonia's fourth publicly funded university. It is a young university, yet it already has its own little slice of history: it was founded in 1990 with 316 students taking two degree courses, and today it has 7,000 students, twelve degree courses and an expanding campus in the heart of the city, stretching between the Rambla and the district of Poblenou.

Barcelona is an amazing place where anyone will be able to find a niche. It is is perfectly located on the Mediterranean Sea, and it's culture and history are quite impressive. GPEFM Program which I am attending is challenging and it has a very high international cultural environment. Barcelona is a great city to live therefore I recommend everyone Univ. Pompeu Fabra and the city. FINAL COMMENTS
www.loquo.com is the best website to look at to find accomodation. Univ. Pompeu Fabra recommends ONIX and RESA as student residences and they are both great and you can choose one of them dependinig on your budget but you have to reserve your place beforehand, months ago. Academically better than either ESADE or Autonomo for Economics, lags ESADE for Business studies. Strength of Economics faculty depends largely on quality of visiting professors and some of the professors holding dual professorships at foreign universities - make sure that the professor that you want will be there while you are. PhD programme in Economics is an excellent option. Support and attention granted to graduate students much better than that experienced at most North European and UK institutions and without comparison in Spain. It has excellent research partnerships with top notch institutions (i.a., the LSE) and has managed to position itself as a leading force within economic research (micro, macro, growth, rational expectations theory), only surpassed by the LSE in terms of publications in Europe. I rented a car and drove upnorth on the catalonian cost to Cadaques, visited Olot (old medieval translation center), Figueres, and other nice villages. I had a great time. The university is very small but effective. In contrary to my german university the classes are very small like in our school system and you can talk with your teacher during the lessons. I had a great time and I gained a lot of experiences in economics. FINAL COMMENTS

If you come from Germany its helpful to have a current account at Deutsche Bank, because you get money without fees. You should go to the south of Spain to see other the real Spain flavour. It is a great university and there are a ton of options for international students. My professors were easy to understand but my spanish level is pretty proficient. FINAL COMMENTS
It will be one of the greatest things you experiance if you open yourself up to interacting with the locals. Don´t be afraid to go out and meet new people. If you are open people will be open to you.
