Personal spending habits
Accomodation was much cheaper in Alicante than in Limerick. I had no travel expenses in Limerick whereas i had to take the bus to uni in Alicante. Telephone was more expensive because i was phoning home. Nightlife was cheaper because alcohol is cheaper in Spain, so overall i think it was cheaper to live there.

My Spanish improved greatly but i still feel that it could have been better. once again because of the numbers of foreign students, the opportunity was always there to speak English, French, etc.

Academic
Course recommendations
Choosing what modules to study was quite difficult as its such a big university and its quite hard to work out what you can actually take. The Spanish language course whcih was obligatory was very good for improving my language skills.

Personal comments
Maybe try and have more interaction between the foreign and native students. Because there were so many Erasmus students in the university, we all tended to group together so I'm sure the Spanish just looked as us all as the foreign group.

The ole town in Alicante is really the place to be at nighttime followed by the puerto in the early hours of the morning. La Guarida was one of my favourite bars in the old town. There's also a really nice tapas restaurant in the old town, sorry i can't remember the name! DO not miss the Moros y Cristianos processions in any of the surrounding villages, they're amazing and also take a trip to Granada, its a stunning city.
