Sign up for the Erasmus Spanish course for only 30EU take both courses with local students and international students. Take advantage of sports activities as I did by taking Judo, Water sports(surf, wind surf, rowing, kayaking etc), Beach Volleyball and lots of travelling. If you are looking for accomodation this is the best website to find flats in alicante by the beach or near the centre (I reccomend living near plaza de los luceros or plaza de toros) https://aplicacionesua.cpd.ua.es/anuncio... Pretty good.
Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.
Disappointing.
Facilities

Cleanliness
Space
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Sharing a flat with German, French, Italian, Portuguese, American, Moroccan and Spanish students has been one of the best aspects of studying abroad and discovering lots of cultures.
Personal comments:
The university website is thoroughly comprehensive and very wasy to find information about everything including accomodation, activities, courses etc.

Personal comments:
Mulligans Bar targeting Erasmus student is always a good place to meet many international students. Join AEGEE and attend language exchange meeting (German-French-Italian-English-Spanish-Japonese-Chinese are the most common languages). Amazing activities calendar organised monthly by the university http://www.csidiomas.ua.es/actividades/agenda. Free Salsa lesssons Mondays at Havana.

ACADEMIC       4.5 / 5
My academic experiences
Quality of courses
KEY:
Fantastic.
Pretty good.
Could've been a bit better.
Disappointing.
Variety of courses
Availability/access to resources
Interaction with teachers
Interaction with other international students
Interaction with local students
Course recommendations:
For students with a stronger level in English than Spanish I reccommend the International Business Programme(IBP) which are business courses taught in English. For those with a good level of Spanish normal spanish courses are great.

Academic life in Alicante is almost perfect, the univeristy's campus is the most beautiful I have seen with lots of palm trees areas for picniks and studying outside. The architecture is also stunning.

Language of instruction: Spanish
Was learning Spanish a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't.
How much did you improve your Spanish?
My level before: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.)
My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang)
Personal comments:
This year, for me, has been the most amazing and diversified in terms of languages and cultures. I studied business courses taught in English, and languages all taught in the language itself e.g. Italian taught in Italian, French in French and the regional language Valenciano(of which I had no prior knowledge of), German taught in German and Spanish, Chinese taught in Spanish. Overall, I was attending classes with international and local students and I was taught in six languages - a tryly amazing experience. In terms of communication with the students the majority was done in English, Spanish and French.

Travel: was the same price as at home.
Food, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Budget,Budget,Budget...the best way to make your money go further and use it to travel with newly acquired friends.

I wish I had known...
It is the third biggest ERASMUS city in Spain (according to my spanish friends) therefore there is an immense number of international students, for those wanting to really explore the spanish culture it is most likely you will explore more other cultures.
In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!

During my experience abroad, I ...
Became familiar with another culture
KEY:
Happened all the time.
Happened quite a lot.
Happened a bit.
Didn't happen.
Traveled
Improved language skills
Met people from other countries
Became more independent
Partied a lot
Experienced a change in life
Advanced my studies/career
Personal recommendation:
Study at the University of Alicante as it is one of the most modern, beautiful universities in Spain with lots of activities organised for its students and a fantastic variety of courses including sports.
