I wish I had known...
That I wouldnt get too stressed in finding somewhere to stay. Being sent to a foreign country without any accommodation is quite daunting, however...there are posters and advertisements everywhere, so you're bound to find something! I came out on the 7th September, and found my place on the 9th! My advice is you dont leave your searching too late! Because lots of students arrive mid-end september!

If you want to open a bank account its easiest to just go to the campus and open a bank account at eiher Bancaja (Bancaixa)or Banco Santander Central Hispano. All you need is your passport. At other banks you can be sent all around town to get a residencial card...
