HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Cheaper, bigger, and with a better location than university accommodation. Not to mention not sharing bathroom and kitchen with tens of people.
Personal comments:

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students equally interact with the local and student community
Activities, Travel: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Nightlife: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
Olivier is by far the best place in the city. It's a Belgian beer café, with a very chilled environment. It's easy to find international students as well as locals, business people and all kind of different people. Einstein's is the student bar per si, this is where ISN (International student association) arranges all it's parties and events. It's the best place to meet people in the first days in the city. Lemmy's is another good place to go. They also serve Belgian beer, only at better prices than Olivier. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
Make sure that everything is well arranged before coming. If any kind of problem arises it will be complicated to resolve. Burocracy is heavy and flexibility is not a choice.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
Better choice of materials and evaluation procedures. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: English
Local language was: Different than language of instruction.
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. Was learning the local language a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my knowledge How much did you improve your English?
My level before: No problems in any areas (including slang) My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) How much did you improve your local language?
My level before: Did not speak it My level after: Basic phrases Personal comments:
English is the teaching language as well as the social language. It is the universal language within the international community and everybody uses it. Dutch never rose as a language because every Dutch person speaks English and seem eager to do it. Even when one tries his Dutch the answer arrives in English. OVERALL
Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
I researched before coming and I feel I knew enough. In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
It's a very recognized university and with reason. Not perfect obviously but highly recommended. FINAL COMMENTS
The weather is not the best one, there are however in-house activities that make up for it. People are friendly in general. Problems are difficult to resolve due to inflexibility and burocracy. It's a potentially expensive country, but very central and with many travelling opportunities and good prices. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
