A basic level of dutch, since everybody speaks English, if you dont have already a basic level it is not possible to practice the dutch you are learning, local people automatically speak to you in English all the time

It is a very good University, with a high academic level but sometimes very bureaucratic, be careful with bureaucracy.

Academic
Course recommendations
It is very important be fluent in English before going to study there, it is not a place to learn English, you are required a high level to pass your courses. Courses are very interactive and your participation level counts, studying before the session takes place is crucial and assistance is compulsory.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
The facilities have been improved now, but when I was there were really not wonderful, so if I had to go back now I would definitely stay at the campus.

It was really nice to live with so many people of different nationalities. I shared the room with an Italian girl, and the experience was great. The location is just perfect, in a quiet area and not far from the faculty.

Certainly cafes are really nice in Maastricht, specially "Cafe Zuid", "Zondag", "Marks&Kampstra" and "Take Five". The best night spots are "Metamorfoos", "Clinique" and "Twee Heren"
