HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: With a family
Why? I would choose to live with Amsterdam host family if possible so as to understand and get more familiar with the culture(espacially food and language) and the way of life of the people of Holland.
Personal comments:
The housing provided was good but would have been better with an existence of a common place with facilities(T.V or Games) where students could meet each other and know their neighbours e.g a common room or a game/sport court. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities, Nightlife, Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
An event of DIS - Day of International Students (organised by Holland Government) should not be missed by anyone and the Introduction Week and Tuesday Evening Drink for students organised by my institution should not be missed by any. My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
I recommend that my university should try to add a dutch introductory course to the curriculum of their international programs for an added advantage of studying in a country with another language and to help eliminate the feeling of a stranger in public places as a result of having a knowledge of the local language.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
Well, I will susgest that the university should try to have more english version of their academic events like discussions, career fair and so on, for the benefit of international students. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: English
Local language was: Different than language of instruction.
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. Was learning the local language a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my knowledge How much did you improve your local language?
My level before: Did not speak it My level after: Basic phrases Personal comments:
Communication is not a problem in Holland because virtually everyone here understands and speaks a bit of English. Although I still intend to go for dutch classes before finishing my master program because I want maximize the opportunity of studying in Holland, but so far, so good, I am able to learn some basic phrases by interacting with the local people in public places like shops, insides buses e.t.c This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Family Other sources of funding:
Personal savings Work opportunities:
I worked during my study abroad experience Personal spending habits:
I am a curious person and I always want to try or know more of people, place or situation. Hence, I spent more seeing, knowing and learning about Holland's things because living expenses are pretty high especially in Amsterdam where I am living than in my home country. Nightlife: was the same price as at home. Food, Travel, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
