Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
My on campus apartment had everything I needed and was close to class. It also provided me with opportunities to meet other students outside the classroom.

Personal comments
I lived in Merville Residence with three other exchange students. We each had our own bedrooms, which was nice. The flat was the perfect size, with two bathrooms, a living room, and a kitchen.

The UCD student pub was always a good place to meet other students if you didn't want to go too far from home. In the city centre, I particularly liked the Red Box for a fun night. Bewley's on Grafton St. was always great for coffee and a sandwich. Also, one must see a rugby match while you're there!

Dublin is a wonderful city - it's young and the people are friendly. Don't forget your really, really warm clothes because that wind is bone-chilling.

Languages
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't.
Language difficulties
Administrative / Institutional
Personal comments
Since English is my native tongue, it was a pretty easy adjustment for me. The Irish brogue was somewhat confusing at times, but it made the experience even better. I worked in a pub for a few months, and I occassionally confused orders because of the differences in language. I enjoyed my experiences very much.
