Glasgow is an amazing music city... concerts are on every day of the week. Check out King Tuts for a great venue or the unions at the uni sometimes have good gigs. Jumpin Jaks on wednesdays, GUU on thursdays, QMU (Cheesy pop) on fridays... Glasgow has a great nightlife and so many pubs to go out for a drink at. Join the international society at the uni and go to the pub The Primary on thursdays to meet all the other exchange students. People are extremely friendly and the prices are low.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
I had to change dorms mid term so I was in two different ones (I was the only one and party it was my own fault so its not common practice to move people like that). I met some great people in the dorms, the location was excellent. It was an easy way to get into the social life.

Personal comments
The first housing was a great facility. The second I was in had a better social life and excellent location. Most international students are in the dorms. However, in some of the university housing there is a great deal of freshers (age 17-18) but not in all of them. The price is decent, less than in Milan anyways.

Academic
Course recommendations
Academically it wasnt that challenging, the courses were pretty good though. I mainly had to write essays for grading. Meeting other international students is easy but its harder to make friends with the local students, altough they are always helpful if you ask the about things...

Overall
I wish I had known...
My friends (guys) had a discussion about what was more unpredictable the glasgow weather ot women, they settled for women. Glasgow weather is in a class of its own..
Scotland has a very strong identity of its own. Its more different from england than you would think.

In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
Important factors in my choice
(1) Unimportant – (4) Very important
Personal recommendation
I had an amazing time. People asked me beforehand why on eartch I would go to glasgow and not edinburgh... I dont regret it for a second... The city is a bit industrial but the atmosphere more than makes up for it. Great place, great people. I will definitely go back to scotland again.
