nightlife on campus is great, but if you want a bar to sit, drink and talk go "downtown champaign" to "cowboy monkey" or "highdive" for dancing
spare yourself the cosmopolitan club! or go there once, so you know why...

All bars/ pubs in urbana-champaign close at 1pm at the latest. If you seek for real nightlife make a trip to chicago - nightlife there is way better.

I used to go to Legends and Brothers, those bars were within walking distance from Sherman Hall, (the residence hall where I used to live). I also enjoyed to go to eat to the Union or to Monstruck which is a Cafe walking distance from Sherman Hall
