if you are in the same program i was, don't worry about the choice of courses before you get there. you'll have to take what's left anyway, because locals book their courses about 4 months before you can. you'll find satisfying courses though, so don't worry and be flexible!

i hardly had any difficulties to communicate before, but now i am even more fluent, because phrases come to my mind easily and i can understand nearly every fast spoken word, eg on tv or in movies

most books turned out to be unnecessary, but teachers will tell you you absolutely need them... difficult, because you can never tell. surprise: yes, you pay fees and they're about 450USD. be prepared.
