Description:
The University of Kent was granted its Royal Charter in 1965 and the first students arrived in the October of that year. The single-site campus covers 300 acres and is just over a mile from Canterbury's city centre. In 1997 the University opened a new centre, the Bridge Wardens' College, in Chatham's Historic Dockyard. This is an addition to the University Centre at Tonbridge, which caters for continuing education and part-time students.

I had no problem whatsoever due to the fact that I had taken many courses in English at home. I had also done a translation course from greek into english and vice versa in the British council and also a translation course from english into french and vice versa in the university

Due to a lot of interaction with international students from all over the world, the only common language used was English. Plus the fact that English is the National language in England, it was very beneficial in improving my English oral and aural language ability.

Before coming to England to study, I had a very good grasp of the English language due to my several language training holidays. Now i think that i have significantly improve my english due to my interaction with my roomates, teachers, the others students in different acitivities and societies (rowing, salsa...) It's a really good experience to go studying in England in order to learn and improve knowledge of the language and culture

Living in a foreign country is now confirmed to be the best way to learn another langage. I could feel I was improving as communicating with people was starting to get easier and more pleasant.

There are so many foreign students on this campus, so sometimes it is difficult to speak english with english native speaker but the local accent is very anderstanable

Understanding lectures and teachers has been easier than interacting with students sometimes. It took me a while before I could feel at ease with groups of peers. Many social activities helped me with that.
