Description:
Founded in 1874 in Elko, NV, the oldest institution of seven in the University and Community College System of Nevada, the university moved to Reno in 1885, with two faculties and fifty students.
UNR is a Land Grant University, with an enrollment of approximately 12,500 in ten schools and colleges. More than one-fourth of the students are pursuing advanced degrees.
