HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Living off campus gave me more independence.
Personal comments:
On-campus accommodation was a typical dorm situation. However, my apartment was a five minute walk from the beach and we rented it through a real estate agent. I couldn't have asked for a better place to live. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students interact with the local community without much university involvement
Travel: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Activities, Nightlife: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
In Newcastle East, where I lived, the best cafe ws The Bogie Hole, a cute cafe close to the beach with GREAT food. As a college student, the place to be seen at night was The Great Northern. However, we also frequented The Delaney, a wonderful Irish Pub and The Mercury, a techno dance club. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
Some of the classes are only offered for one semester. Be sure to check the dates classes are offered before registering.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
Studying in Australia was a bit different than The States. Students have to spend more time outside of class preparing. But that was a great lesson for me. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. Personal comments:
Australians do speak English, but picking up on some of the slang was very fun. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Government assistance Other sources of funding:
Family Personal savings Work opportunities:
I worked during my study abroad experience Personal spending habits:
I wanted to get the full experience and not miss anything. I'm still a little bit in debt from my trip, but I would do it the same way five times again! Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall: was more expensive than at home. Telephone: was the same price as at home. Housing: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Take advantage of Student Travel services. The University had an STA right on campus and it was a great way to find cheap travel. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

No. In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
Live off campus, close to the beach. In Newcastle East, Mereweather or Bar Beach. FINAL COMMENTS
Don't hesitate on spending money when it comes to traveling around Australia and even to New Zealand and Thailand. I spent a lot of money, but I would do it all over again, it was WELL worth it. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
