Description:
The University of Newcastle was established in 1965 and has just over 18,000 students who can choose from 150 undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by 11 Faculties. There are two main campuses. The largest is at Callaghan, 12 km west of the city of Newcastle and it is "home" to about 16000 of our students. It is set on 125 hectares of natural bush and is well served by public transport and has excellent access to the freeway.

If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? I lived on the beach for a very cheap price.

You will travel more, and you might spend more from that point of view. But with the exchange rates being what they are it was really good going from the american dollar to the australian dollar. Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
